Functional Organization: UCM Digital Health
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Expected Hours of Work: 37.5-40 hours
Reports to: Mads Kvalsvik
Other Key Relationships: Works closely with the Product Managers
Design and implement software products, while leading minor engineering efforts &/or participate as a senior member on major engineering efforts.
Responsible for translating software requirements into technical design documentation and working software. Making changes and fixes to existing software products as needed/required. Investigating new technology approaches including the creation of proof-of-concept solutions.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Design and implement software products and/or product features
- Initiate and/or participate in technical architecture and major design discussions
- Create new software products/features
- Collaborate and share technical knowledge with Product Managers and other software engineers
- Maintain and improve existing software products/features
- Technical mentorship of team member engineers
- Unit testing, development, and execution
- Other technical duties as assigned
- Adhere to all corporate Information Security policies and procedures
- Identify any breaches or potential breaches of corporate Information Security standards and communicate those to appropriate individuals
- Maintains integrity, availability, and confidentiality of all PHI
- Adheres to HIPAA standards for information security, privacy, and confidentiality
Required: Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred: Master’s Degree in mathematics, computer science, or statistics
Minimum 7 years previous work experience as a Software Engineer or Technical Team Lead working in object-oriented programming.

This position operates in a professional blended office environment that includes the requirement to operate both in-office and remotely. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and information technology.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The primary language proficiency of this position is English. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This is mostly a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Less than 10% travel may be expected for this position.
