VP of Clinical Operations

The opportunity

Healing. Caring for others. Enabling a healthy living. Longevity. These are ideals people have aspired to from times immemorial. The healthcare industry accounts for nearly 17% of the US GDP, employs over 18 million people and counts every American as a participant. The industry continues to go through significant transformation, with changes in customer expectations, improved provider and payor landscape, changes in retailer and pharmacy environment and ongoing changes in regulation.

Customer experience in all other industries has seen dramatic improvement over the last decade. For example, customers no longer have to walk into a travel agent’s office to book air tickets, call ahead to book a taxi or stand in long lines to check out from stores on busy days. However, the experience at the primary care provider is almost frozen in time. It still involves researching which provider is supported by your health insurance company, making the necessary appointments, visiting them in person and filling out forms and waiting for a long time even to get simple questions answered. Furthermore, payors often pay high costs for out of network, and sometimes duplicative, procedures. All of this drives poor experience and economics in the industry, resulting in large opportunities.

About UCM Digital Health

UCM Digital Health (UCM) delivers an end-to-end healthcare solution that combines such a digital front door platform with a 24/7 telehealth triage treat and navigation service – designed to lower costs, improve outcomes and provide a better patient experience. More than a “digital front door,” UCM brings together clinical expertise, advanced technology and compassionate care to offer powerful advantages for insurers, employers, patients and providers.

The company has grown rapidly since its founding six years ago and has tested, evaluated and built a unique working model for tech-enabled healthcare that is loved by patients, payors and providers. It has demonstrated the economic viability of its approach and has achieved product-market fit by covering over 2 million patient lives, 600+ employer groups, 4 health plan partnerships (with plans to grow this number) and over a dozen other platform partners that include health systems, labs, device companies and many others.
